Purpose in Action: HomeAid Returns to the Shore Consulting Sales & Marketing Leadership Summit

There are few events in the homebuilding industry that combine professional excellence with a genuine commitment to making a difference quite like the Shore Consulting Sales & Marketing Leadership Summit. This year, HomeAid America was honored to return as one of Shore Consulting's Partners with a Purpose, with Chief Development Officer Marisol Parand and me representing HomeAid at the beautiful Gaylord Pacific Resort in Chula Vista, California.

The Summit brought together hundreds of sales, marketing, and executive leaders from across the country to learn, collaborate, and prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead in the housing industry. While the educational sessions and networking opportunities were outstanding, what continues to set this event apart is Shore Consulting's intentional focus on purpose.

Jeff Shore has built more than a premier leadership conference. He has created a culture that reminds our industry that success is measured not only by sales and market share, but also by the lives we impact in the communities where we build. That philosophy aligns perfectly with HomeAid's mission to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education.

A Conversation About Purpose

One of the highlights before the Summit was recording a special episode of the Unsheltered Conversations podcast alongside Jeff Shore, Mollie Elkman of She Built Foundation, and Matt Baehr of Homes for HOPE.

Each organization approaches the housing crisis from a different perspective, yet we share a common belief: when the homebuilding industry comes together around a purpose larger than itself, extraordinary things happen.

Our conversation explored how businesses can create meaningful social impact while strengthening their own culture, leadership, and community relationships. We discussed why purpose is no longer simply a corporate value, it has become an essential part of building resilient organizations and healthy communities. It was an inspiring conversation that reinforced the incredible generosity of our industry and the unique role each organization plays in addressing housing insecurity across the country.

Connecting with Industry Leaders

Throughout the Summit, Marisol and I had the opportunity to reconnect with many of HomeAid's longtime national partners while also introducing our mission to new builders, developers, suppliers, marketers, and consultants who are looking for meaningful ways to engage in their communities.

Our presence as a Partner with a Purpose allowed us to share the collective impact of HomeAid's national network of affiliates, highlighting how the building industry continues to transform lives through construction projects, community engagement initiatives, and educational programs that serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

These conversations often begin with curiosity, but they frequently lead to partnerships that create lasting community impact.

More Than a Conference

The Shore Summit continues to demonstrate that leadership is about more than business performance. It is about investing in people, strengthening communities, and using our talents and resources to serve others.

We are grateful to Jeff Shore, Wade Mayhue, Amy O'Connor, and the entire Shore Consulting team for creating such an exceptional experience and for their unwavering commitment to giving nonprofit organizations like HomeAid a meaningful platform throughout the conference.

We also extend our sincere thanks to everyone who stopped by to learn more about HomeAid, attended the podcast discussion, shared ideas, and expressed interest in becoming involved. Every conversation helps expand our network of advocates and partners working toward a future where everyone has a safe place to call home. As we left the Gaylord Pacific, we carried with us more than new ideas and new relationships. We left encouraged by the collective passion of an industry that understands that building communities extends far beyond constructing homes— it means creating opportunities, restoring hope, and changing lives.

That is what purpose looks like. And together, we are building a future without homelessness.
