Building Relationships That Build Communities: HomeAid at PCBC 2026
One of the greatest strengths of the homebuilding industry is its commitment to collaboration. That spirit was on full display this past week at PCBC 2026 in San Diego, where HomeAid leaders joined builders, developers, manufacturers, architects, designers, and industry partners to explore the future of housing in California.
I was honored to attend alongside several of HomeAid's outstanding affiliate leaders, including Sue Evans from HomeAid Inland Empire, John Peterson from HomeAid San Diego, Crisand Giles from HomeAid Northern California, and Gina Cunningham and Melissa Auten from HomeAid Orange County Los Angeles. Together, we spent time reconnecting with longtime industry partners, meeting new collaborators, and sharing how the building industry continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
For HomeAid, conferences like PCBC are about much more than exhibits and educational sessions. They are opportunities to strengthen the relationships that make our mission possible. Every shelter renovated, every bridge housing community constructed, every emergency bed built, and every community project completed begins with people who believe they can use their expertise and resources to serve others.
The time also included one of the industry's most meaningful traditions, the California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony. Congratulations to this year's distinguished inductees:

Their commitment extends far beyond building homes; they have invested in strengthening communities and creating opportunities for future generations. HomeAid has been privileged to work alongside many of these leaders throughout the years. Their support and the support of countless companies represented at PCBC demonstrates what can happen when the building industry comes together around a shared purpose.
I would also like to thank CBIA, Dan Dunmoyer and the entire CBIA team, as well as Jill Herman and the California Homebuilding Foundation team, for hosting another outstanding conference and celebration. Their leadership continues to bring our industry together while advancing conversations about housing, workforce development, and community impact.
As I left PCBC, I was reminded once again that solving homelessness is not the work of any one organization. It requires partnerships, innovation, generosity, and a shared commitment to ensuring everyone has the opportunity for a safe and dignified place to call home.
That is exactly what HomeAid is proud to build every day.
