Scott Larson joined HomeAid America as the Chief Executive Officer in October 2019. Founded in 1989, HomeAid develops, builds, and preserves a variety of housing, including emergency, interim, transitional, permanent supportive, and affordable housing through its 20 affiliates in 17 states and the District of Columbia.
Larson brings more than 35 years of nonprofit leadership, strategic planning, project management, program implementation, and community development to HomeAid America. For the previous 21 years, he served as the Executive Director of HomeAid Orange County, the founding affiliate of HomeAid. Under his leadership, Larson united builders, community leaders, service providers, and government officials in the development of 33 housing projects, valued at $64 million, that added more than 975 beds—providing thousands of individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness with safe, dignified housing.
Since Larson became CEO of HomeAid America, the organization has expanded its impact, surpassing 1,500 housing and outreach projects with a value of more than $383 million. HomeAid has added over 17,000 beds, serving over 1.5 million individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness. In 2025 alone, HomeAid completed 756 beds across the country.
In addition to leading HomeAid, Larson was appointed Executive Director of Homeful in 2024, strengthening the collaboration between both organizations in their shared mission to combat homelessness. Larson also serves on the board of directors for California Lutheran Homes and Community Services provides funding and other assistance for those in need of housing and human services through partnerships with congregations, community-based organizations and local agencies.
Larson earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Biola University, holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Certificate in Fund Raising Nonprofit/Public Organizational Management from the University of California, Irvine.
