Returning HA Inland Empire board member John Adams of Chicago Title has been named to serve a second term as President of the HomeAid Inland Empire Board of Directors for 2009.

All 15 members have affiliations in the home building or real estate industry, bringing extensive expertise and experience to support HomeAid’s mission to build or renovate shelters for transitionally homeless men, women and children. Returning board member John Adams of Chicago Title has been named to serve a second term as President of the HomeAid Inland Empire Board of Directors for 2009. “A new year always brings new and exciting challenges and we have an enthusiastic board that is committed to continuing to move the Inland Empire chapter in a positive direction this year,” said Adams. “I am truly looking forward to working with the talented and diverse group of industry professionals on our HomeAid board during my term as President in 2009,” he added. “We are already working on several shelter projects including a new wing at the California Institution for Women in Corona; the addition of 12,000 square feet and 80 beds at Veronica’s Home of Mercy in San Bernardino; and a 5,200 square foot intake center and emergency shelter at Mercy House in Ontario. We recently completed the construction of four 3,200 square foot homes at the Olive Crest Children’s Center in Coachella under the direction of Family Development, our builder captain.” The 2009 HomeAid Inland Empire Board of Directors includes Steve Johnson of Metrostudy as Finance Chair; Terry Kent of Crestwood Communities as Project Playhouse Chair; Ray Osborne of New Home Marketing Network as Communications Chair; Steve Varner of Varner & Brandt, Legal Chair; and Jonathan Weldy, Meridian Land Development as Volunteer Chair. Additional board members include: Barb DeLay, Southeast Construction Products; Patty Greeves, Real Estate Temps/Temps for Tracts; Victoria Jaworski, First American Title; Nycole Rochford, Vision Design Studio; Jim Perry, K. Hovnanian Homes; John Sands, MBK Homes; Matt Sauls, Pardee Homes; and Larry Smith, Development Strategies; and past HomeAid Inland Empire President, Fred Farr of John Laing Homes. The concept of HomeAid began in Orange County in 1989 when members of the Building Industry Association established HomeAid as a way to support non-profit care provider organizations in their community be doing what they do best…building. As homebuilders, the decision was made to focus charity efforts on the broad area of those people who were in temporarily in need of transitional housing. The first Inland Empire HomeAid project was dedicated by the Orange County chapter in May of 1990, and twelve projects have been completed to date by the HomeAid Inland Empire chapter since it was established in 1995.
