Local Building Industry Agencies Join Forces with Crestwood Communities for 12thAnnual ‘Wheelbarrow of Toys" Toy Drive

RIVERSIDE, CA (November 29, 2010) --- Family owned-Crestwood Communities has joined forces with HomeAid Inland Empire and the Building Industry Association's Baldy View Chapter and Riverside County Chapter to bring holiday joy to hundreds of children at Mary's Mercy Center and Veronica's Home of Mercy. The 12th annual ‘Wheelbarrow of Toys' toy drive takes place through December 17 with drop off locations throughout the Inland Empire, including the BIA Baldy View Chapter office in Rancho Cucamonga, the BIA Riverside office and HomeAid Inland Empire in Riverside, and Crestwood Communities Sales Centers and office in Glendora.
The public is invited to support the efforts of Mary's Mercy Center in San Bernardino by bringing wrapped toys marked ‘boy' or ‘girl' and the age group to any of the Wheelbarrow of Toys sites in the Inland Empire.

"The needs of Mary's Mercy Center are even greater this year than last," said Terry Kent, vice president of sales and marketing for Crestwood Communities. "At last year's event nearly 2,000 guests received gifts, food or both at the Mary's Mercy Center Christmas eve party. We were blessed to be a part of that event and our wheelbarrows overflowed with over 800 toys. With the help of the community, the BIA and HomeAid Inland Empire we hope to meet or exceed that number this year."
Mary's Mercy Center provides food, clothing and multiple other services, serving more than 1,200 poor and homeless families monthly. Veronica's Home of Mercy, one of Mary's Mercy Center programs, provides a safe and stable shelter for adult women and their children as an alternative to substance abuse, domestic violence and homelessness. The annual holiday event provides cheer, along with gifts and a holiday meal, to families that otherwise have nothing at this time of year.
Information on Mary's Mercy Center can be found on their website at www.marysmercycenter.org .
