CB Richard Ellis & HomeAid Team Up with HomeAid Orange County to Support Homeless during CBRE's "Get Out and Give Back" BuildMonth

CB RICHARD ELLIS AND HOMEAID TEAM UP TO SUPPORT ORANGE COUNTY HOMELESS DURING CBRE’S “GET OUT AND GIVE BACK” BUILDMONTH

Fullerton, CA – September 25, 2010 – CB Richard Ellis has successfully partnered with HomeAid—a leading provider of housing for today’s homeless—for a unique BuildMonth event for the homeless in Orange County as part of CBRE’s “Get Out and Give Back” BuildMonth in September. During the month, over 1,000 CBRE professionals from more than 20 offices across the U.S. joined Rebuilding Together and HomeAid, CBRE’s Shelter Program charitable partners, as well as Habitat for Humanity, to assist with housing construction projects for the underprivileged and homeless.

Recently, 20 CBRE volunteers joined Orange County’s HomeAid chapter to assist homeless families in need. The project, “Full Bellies, Warm Hearts,” included a “day of beauty” for women at the shelter—complete with haircuts and color treatments, make-up and photos—and face painting, carnival games, a magician, barbeque, DJ and bounce castle for families. The CBRE volunteers helped with setting up for the event, running the games and cleaning up at the end.

This event was one of several that CBRE has participated in across the U.S. as part of BuildMonth, including California, Colorado, Washington, D.C., Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.

“This new program aims to build on company and individual contributions to our communities by more closely aligning our business with our giving endeavors. By partnering with HomeAid, we are providing real estate solutions to assist those in need of a helping hand,” said Jeff Moore, Senior Managing Director of CBRE’s Orange County Region.

“All of us at HomeAid Orange County have been thrilled by the enthusiasm and hard work of the professionals at CB Richard Ellis who pitched in as volunteers for Full Bellies, Warm Hearts at New Vista Shelter in Fullerton, CA. The work of the men and women of CB Richard Ellis has made a real difference in the ability of Fullerton Interfaith Emergency Service to help homeless Americans rebuild their lives,” said Gina Scott, Director of Development.

In 2010, CB Richard Ellis selected HomeAid as one of two charitable partners to implement the company’s Shelter Program, which is the cornerstone of its corporate philanthropy program, CBRE Cares. Rebuilding Together—an organization working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods by providing complimentary home repair and renovation services to those in need—was also chosen as one of CB Richard Ellis’ partners. This collaborative effort is designed to improve the housing options for low-income communities across the country. To find out more about the partnership, visit www.cbre.com/cbrecares.

CBRE Cares is governed and executed by the CB Richard Ellis Foundation, an independent, non-profit, public-benefit corporation that funds CB Richard Ellis’ philanthropic initiatives.
