200 CB Richard Ellis Professionals Undertake Major Rebuilding Project In New Orleans

Effort Preludes Launch of Corporate Philanthropy Program’s Shelter Initiative

New Orleans, LA – May 27, 2010 – More than 200 CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. (CBRE) professionals from around the world recently helped rebuild and refurbish ten New Orleans houses and a homeless shelter that were damaged by 2005’s Hurricane Katrina. Volunteers at the BuildDay, who were gathered in the city for CBRE’s 2010 Industrial Conference, undertook projects ranging from painting and carpentry to landscaping. The event was a prelude to the September 2010 launch of the CB Richard Ellis Shelter Program, in which employees across the country will “Get Out and Give Back” by participating in housing construction projects throughout the month.

“It was exciting to see some of CBRE’s top professionals rolling up their sleeves and working to renovate the houses with the same energy and passion they bring to their business,” said Ed Schreyer, Executive Managing Director, CB Richard Ellis Industrial Services. “Our employees really put their heart and sweat into this project, and the feedback we’ve received has been overwhelmingly positive.”

CBRE volunteers worked at the rebuilding sites alongside clients and event sponsors, as well as representatives from the Company’s national charitable partners, Rebuilding Together and HomeAid. The nonprofits are leaders in working to preserve and revitalize affordable homeownership and build and maintain dignified housing for the homeless, respectively.

“Rebuilding Together is pleased to partner with CB Richard Ellis and join its Shelter Program,” said Gary A. Officer, President and Chief Executive Officer, Rebuilding Together. “While working beside CBRE professionals at the New Orleans rebuild, it was clear they recognized the significant need millions of American homeowners face. We look forward to continuing this collaboration to make a real difference for families in communities across the country.”

“HomeAid rebuilt the New Orleans Mission in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, and we were thrilled to have CBRE professionals join us in constructing a garden at the shelter and giving its walls a fresh coat of paint,” said Jeff Slavin, Chief Executive Officer, HomeAid. “The improvements give the Mission’s residents an added sense of dignity as they work their way out of homelessness, and both HomeAid and the Mission deeply appreciate CBRE’s efforts. Our continued partnership will enable us to build and renovate more transitional shelter in response to a growing need.”

CB Richard Ellis’ Shelter Program—the cornerstone of the Company’s corporate philanthropy program, CBRE Cares—will focus on providing shelter and housing to those in need. The initiative is aimed at more closely aligning CBRE’s philanthropic endeavors with real estate and making measurable differences in the communities where its employees live and work.

CBRE Cares encompasses the company’s philanthropic activities at the local, regional and national levels and is governed by the CB Richard Ellis Foundation, a non-profit, public benefit corporation that funds CBRE’s philanthropic and community initiatives.
