Feb 22 2010 - HomeAid Southern Nevada Project Playhouse Opens

INTRODUCING PROJECT PLAYHOUSE 2010

HomeAid Southern Nevada is hosting Project Playhouse from February

22 through March 27, 2010

What is Project Playhouse? An annual fundraiser utilized by several HomeAid

chapters,(including Orange County, Atlanta & Houston). The project involves

much of the HomeAid community, including builders, contractors, architects,

trade partners and sponsors. The event brings the community together to

design, construct, and decorate the playhouses, as well as publicize the event.

The playhouses are then placed on display and either auctioned or raffled.

Three playhouses will be designed and built for HomeAid Southern Nevada’s

2nd event.

Carpenter Sellers Architects, Pardee Homes, Sunrise Carpentry and The

Whiting-Turner Contracting Company are designing and building the

playhouses. Examples of previous Project Playhouse events can be found at

projectplayhouse.org). The Co-Chairs for Project Playhouse 2010 are Adrienne

Cox of Adrienne Cox Consulting LLC and Eryn Sebelius of Faiss Foley Warren

Public Relations.

Why have Project Playhouse? With over 13,000 homeless on any given night

in Southern Nevada, the need for shelter beds and maintenance of shelters is

imperative. HomeAid partners with homeless service providers and the building

industry to construct, refurbish and maintain housing for homeless families and

individuals. The proceeds from Project Playhouse 2010 will directly benefit

homeless service providers such as Boys Town, Catholic Worker, Family

Promise and Women’s Development Center.

Where is Project Playhouse? Children’s Park in Town Square Las Vegas.

Town Square is a 1.5 million square foot outdoor lifestyle center located on

South Las Vegas Boulevard at Interstate 215. 22 buildings of retail shops,

restaurants and entertainment, lend to the ideal atmosphere for a month-long

family-oriented event bringing our community together.

When is Project Playhouse? Open to the community from February 26 - March 27, 2010.

Groundbreaking and Move-in Day is Monday, February 22 at 7AM

Opening and Media Day is Friday, February 26 at 10AM

Playhouses are displayed from February 26 through March 27

VIP Recognition Event at Tommy Bahama is Friday, March 26 at 7 PM

Raffle Celebration Drawing is Saturday, March 27 at 4 PM

Raffle tickets are $5 each and are available in the following ways:

At the playhouses every day from 11AM to 9PM, or Town Square Concierge;

On-line at www.homeaidsn.org;

At 25 Chevrons in the Las Vegas Valley;

At HomeAid office in the Crisci Professional Plaza, 8845 West Flamingo, Suite #110.
