Essentials for Young Lives Drive Held annually since 2002, the Essentials for Young Lives Drive is a HomeAid-driven community-wide donations program to collect much-needed everyday items for homeless babies and toddlers. In the same fashion as a food or toy drive, large drums are placed in corporate offices, places of business, faith-based organizations, and other locations where people can donate items such as diapers, baby wipes, baby food, baby bottles, formula, and baby products. Mothers and children are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population. With a community’s assistance, HomeAid can help those who need it most. All items collected are distributed to local transitional housing facilities that care for homeless babies and toddlers. The Essentials for Young Lives Drive brings additional assistance to these facilities and helps homeless mothers provide essentials for their children. The Essentials for Young Lives Drive occurs at participating HomeAid chapters. If you are interested in participating in the program and are located in proximity to one of HomeAid’s nationwide chapters, contact HomeAid at essentials@homeaid.org. |
