HomeAid Inland Empire Announces New President, Board of Directors
RIVERSIDE, CA (January 26, 2010) --- HomeAid Inland Empire, one of 22 HomeAid America™ chapters nationwide, has announced its 2010 Board of Directors and named Terry Kent of Crestwood Communities as President. All 15 members have affiliations in the home building or real estate industry, bringing extensive expertise and experience to support HomeAid’s mission to build and maintain dignified housing where families and individuals can rebuilt their lives. “I look forward to working with the HomeAid Board this coming year knowing that we, as members of the building industry, can provide help through our talents; talents which can turn an empty field, a mere dream, into the reality of a care facility to provide shelter for those in need,” said Terry Kent. “In these tough economic times we find that our service providers need us the most. Many are being impacted by more and more requests for help from the community and it is our duty to go the extra mile to insure that our fellow man is cared for. “We currently have a project in the pre-development stage for Mercy House in Ontario and completed several projects last year including the 80-bed Veronica’s Home of Mercy II shelter in San Bernardino, Phase 1 of the Olive Crest/Coachella Valley Children’s Center in Riverside County and a new wing at the California Institution for Women in Corona.” The 2010 HomeAid Inland Empire Board of Directors includes past president John Adams of Chicago Title, Barb DeLay, Southeast Construction Products; Fred Farr, D.R. Horton; Patty Greeves, Real Estate Temps/Temps for Tracts; Victoria Jaworski, First American Title; Steve Johnson, Metrostudy; Ray Osborne, ResourceLinx; Jim Perry, K. Hovnanian Homes; Nycole Rochford, Vision Design Studio; John Sands, MBK Homes; Matt Sauls, Pardee Homes; Larry Smith, Development Strategies; Sean Varner, Varner & Brandt; and Jonathan Weldy, Meridian Land Development. The concept of HomeAid began in Orange County in 1989 when members of the Building Industry Association established HomeAid as a way to support non-profit agencies serving homeless families and individuals in their community by doing what they do best--building. The first Inland Empire HomeAid project was dedicated by the Orange County chapter in May of 1990, and fifteen projects have been completed to date by the HomeAid Inland Empire chapter since it was established in 1995.
