7th Annual HomeAid Inland Empire Trap Shoot Fundraiser and Builder Chili Cook-Off Scheduled For May 18 in Chino
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 19, 2012) --- HomeAid Inland Empire is firing up its 7th annual ‘fun' fundraising Trap Shoot and Builder Chili Cook-Off on Friday, May 18, at Prado Olympic Shooting Park in Chino. Riverside County Sheriff Stan Sniff is the Honorary Chairman for this year's event, and US Bank will be the Primary Event Sponsor.
All proceeds from the Trap Shoot participation and sponsorships will benefit HomeAid Inland Empire, the charitable arm of the Riverside County and Baldy View Building Industry Association (BIA) chapters. The mission of HomeAid is to work with various Inland Empire service providers to renovate and build shelter facilities to temporarily house homeless individuals and families who are working to rebuild their lives.
"Our annual fundraiser Trap Shoot is a great opportunity for us to provide our outstanding building industry and corporate partners with a unique and fun way for them to continue making a significant financial commitment to help HomeAid address the on-going problem of homelessness, and also give them the chance to network, build company morale and create lasting business relationships," said Ray Osborne, Executive Director of HomeAid Inland Empire.
"The Trap Shoot is an exciting and fast-paced alternative to other fundraisers by offering a trapshooting competition comprised of teams that compete against each other
by shooting palm-sized clay discs. Shooters of all levels are welcome and training and loaner guns will be available," Osborne added.
Individual trapshooters and teams can register through the HomeAid Inland Empire website at homeaidie.org. The entry fee for individuals is $135 and $750 for five some teams, and includes two rounds of trapshooting, ammo, an event T-shirt, breakfast, lunch, beverages and the chili cook-off tasting. Spectators can attend the trapshooting competition, networking lunch and chili tasting for just $40.
Check-in and practice for the Trap Shoot begins at 9:30 on May 18, with trapshooting beginning at 10:30 and the networking lunch and builder chili cook-off from 11:00 to 3:00. The raffle and awards presentation will be held from 3:30 to 4:30.
In addition to the Primary Event Sponsor, US Bank, other sponsors that have already committed to support this year's Trap Shoot fundraising event include the photo sponsor, Loma Linda Children's Hospital, and the lunch sponsor, Security Bank of California.
Adding to the fun and festivities on May 18 will be a chili cook-off competition involving several of the top homebuilding companies in the Inland Empire who have been HomeAid supporters for many years.
"We are excited to be able to partner with the Greater Sales and Marketing Council of Southern California (GSMC) who are helping us stage the Builder Chili Cook-Off to provide new networking opportunities for the attendees at this year's trapshooting event," Osborne commented.
Among the builders tentatively scheduled to participate in the chili cook-off are D.R. Horton, Lennar, KB Home, and Standard Pacific.
Many of HomeAid Inland Empire's service provider partners, including Olive Crest, Operation SafeHouse and the Children's Fund are also expected to have information tables at the Trap Shoot to give attendees an opportunity to learn more about what is being done to help deal with the homeless issue in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
HomeAid Inland Empire is a non-profit organization that has completed 21 facilities in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties housing 649 beds valued at more than $16.2 million over the past 22 years, with the Inland Empire homebuilding industry providing over $5.4 million in in-kind donations of labor and materials.
