For immediate release CONTACT: Lisa Blair, Marketing Manager (925) 855-0260 Toll Brothers To Donate Home Appliances to HomeAid Northern California & Local Partner Shelters San Ramon, CA (July 27, 2010) - Toll Brothers, Inc., the nation’s leading builder of luxury homes, today announced that it will donate over 50 like-new appliances locally to HomeAid Northern California, a non-profit organization that provides housing for the homeless. The donation is part of a nationwide partnership between Toll Brothers and HomeAid that will result in well over 1,500 appliances being donated to charities throughout regions where Toll Brothers’ communities are located. Due to a change in partnership with Toll Brothers’ major appliance provider, the builder will be replacing appliances in its model homes and design studios throughout the country. That leaves appliances available for those who need them. “It’s simply a matter of doing the right thing,” said Zvi Barzilay, President and COO for Toll Brothers and a HomeAid board member. “The only option here is to find a place where these like-new appliances can be put to good use, and I can’t think of a better organization to handle the dispersal – we are proud to be able to contribute,” he added. Toll Brothers communities in the East Bay and South Bay Area will donate appliances ranging from washing machines and refrigerators to dishwashers and ovens. HomeAid will distribute the majority of the donated appliances in Northern California to shelter partners such as Mission Solano Rescue Mission in Fairfield, which provides long-term residential treatment for homeless addicted men, women and children, and Shepherd’s Gate in Livermore, which provides services and housing to battered and homeless women and children. The remaining donations will be auctioned off to support local HomeAid operations at the group’s 9th Annual Trap Shoot event on September 16th. “HomeAid Northern California is thrilled to be the recipient of Toll Brothers’ generous donation of appliances from their Bay Area communities,” says Julie O’Connor, Executive Director of HomeAid Northern California. She also notes that the personal impact of these donations is significant to those whose lives they touch. “We are working with Toll Brothers to provide a beautiful backyard kitchen to wounded veteran Cristian Valle of Livermore as part of HomeAid’s dedication to wounded warriors.” Toll Brothers’ continued commitment to the communities in which it builds has fostered a long tradition of charitable contributions.
