Susan Blen - Stewardship Director, Development


As the Director of Development, Stewardship, Susan Blen, in conjunction with the CEO, oversees the development and implementation of all fundraising programs for HomeAid’s national organization as well as the coordination of those programs with the organization’s chapters. Blen is responsible for providing management, oversight, and co-ordination of HomeAid’s donor cultivation function in order to obtain, maintain and increase contributions from existing and new donors.  Working with the CEO, this position strategizes, develops, and implements new Programs, and updates/customizes existing Programs so that they meet donor-specific needs.  Blen is responsible for cultivating and managing HomeAid’s donor base, and ensures the timely stewardship of HomeAid’s relationships with its donors. She also identifies, writes and manages the grant process.

 

Blen has worked in the non-profit arena for more than 25 years.  She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Memphis in Social Work.  In addition, Blen has enhanced her professional education through development coursework with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Planned Giving Roundtable, and Indiana University’s Center on Philanthropy.
