Gail, Northern California

Some people just don't have a safety net, like I didn't. The bottom fell out. Trying to take care of the house, and take care of seven children. My dad's doing the financial part, and it became overwhelming. We didn't really see it coming. We thought we were doing everything okay.

We have a tutor for GED. That's going to help, because -- without a high school diploma -- you really can't get too far, and really can't financially take care of your children. We have a lady who comes with job leads; she's an employee specialist. She helps people find jobs and prepare for the workplace.

Hope to teach my children morals and respect. I don't want them to suffer like I have. I hope that everything I'm going through is not in vain, because of my children. I don't want to see this happen to my children. I hope by going through everything that they won't have to travel down that road.
